Just bought me a place in Northwest India!

Violent demonstrations in northwestern India in May left at least 18 dead, as members of the lower Gujjar caste demanded that the government put them into an even lower class, at the bottom of the social ladder (so that they would be eligible for more government benefits). The Gujjars say that being one of the government's "Other Backwards Classes" is unsatisfactory and that they deserve worse. [MSNBC-AP, 5-31-07]

Glad Brass and I only spent $2.77 on the place.

Comics

If you're a fan of Garth Ennis than you should pick up the Trade Paperback of The Boys. Wildstorm dropped this comic after only a few issues (available in the TPB), but never fear, it has been picked up by Dynamite Entertainment which is putting out single issues again. Look for them in your nearest comic book store.

If great story, shock factor, sodomy, and violence are part of your daily needs...this is a must!!!

Coffee this Morning

I was at Dunkin' Donuts this morning and I ran into MegaMan again. Everything was cool until he started bitching about a "favor" I owed Dr. Light. I told MegaMan that I didn't owe him in favors, that I never owed him any favors.

I quickly took my coffee to go. Went outside, and slashed Rush's tires and poured scolding hot coffee in its eyes. Maybe he'll think twice before I owe him something next time...

Books

The Dark Tower Series

Currently I am sexing my way through Stephen King's, Dark Tower Series. I'm currently on the fifth installment and still enjoying immensely entertained. As much as he criticized for his how many books he sells and being such a "commercial" author, one has to admit that he is a helluva story teller.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the Dark Tower Series, the story begins with the protagonist, a mean sunovabitch named Roland Deschain, following a mysterious "man in black." You then quickly learn of his quest for the Dark Tower but really still do not comprehend the quest by the end of the first book (reason being SK wanted to write 6 more goddamn books about it). Still, it is a fantastic introduction into the universe that SK has successfully managed to create. The second book is even better than the first, and the third equally as good. The fourth book, tells the story of Roland's past, and is amazing. I don't often find myself rooting characters in books on, but in the the fourth book, Wizard and Glass, I certainly did.

After reading these books, I felt like I had to get my rocks on...

I give the first 4 books of the DT series, 4 Phils out of 5.
